Created in 1890 by J.W. Foster and founded by his grandsons in 1958, Reebok was named after an African gazelle. Remaining a low-key shoe manufacturer for most of the 20th century, the company took off in the early 1980's thanks mainly to the creation of the Freestyle, a shoe made for the hot new fitness craze at the time, aerobics.
Reebok has since advanced even further in the field of fitness making shoes for all types of sports, exercise and training regimens. Many well-known athletes endorse Reebok products and you can see Reebok shoes in action at most sporting events during any season.
